Required Courses – No longer the bane of my existence

By: Jillian Harding

This semester has been insane. I have heard from tons of people that their schedules are less-than-perfect, and a few have told me that they scarcely have room to breathe or watch even an episode of an ANTM or Bad Girls Club on TV without dying of guilt over their unfinished homework and untouched notes. My schedule is no exception.  I did find a welcome change in the least likeliest of places: COMM 420. Smack dab in the middle of my day, it is a breath of fresh air from some of the other required courses PSU students dread. It’s laid-back, and surprisingly helpful. And you don’t even have to deal with anything like pre-CAS speech nausea or ENGL 202 paper writing jitters. The class is twice a week, and focuses on advertising and public relations research methods. It is refreshingly applicable to the major and provides some really good tools for anyone considering a future in PR. The rest of the semester is looking good!
