A recent study found that all major news companies use Twitter as a way to communicate and display their news stories. Although many news companies use this tactic, which one grabs the attention of the Twitter world audience the most? That answer is indeed the New York Times and BBC. Though for me this comes to no surprise because these news companies are the largest in the world and are two of the most respected. This particular study found that these two news sources are the most retweeted and followed out of all the other broadcasting and journalism companies.
Surprisingly, the companies that showed the lowest followers and retweets were the ones who focus on financial news, such as Forbes and FT. This caught me by surprise the most simply because we live in a world that is run by and focused on money as its number one priority. You would think that many people would want to be reading about ways to double their fortune, or who is the richest man in the world, and how did they get that way. At the same time, it is comforting to know that many people are not concerned with just money, and that they do indeed focus on world news and the global problems that are faced.
