PRSSA’s first general meeting of the semester will feature alumnus and former PRSSA president, Kristin DeRosa. DeRosa works at Burson-Marsteller in New York and has recently been promoted to the Client Executive position in the Public Affairs and Crisis Group.
DeRosa attended Penn State University from 2008-2012, studying public relations and psychology. During her time at Penn State she was heavily involved in both PRSSA and Happy Valley Communications. She was an HVC Account Executive for both Centre County Out of the Darkness and Global Entrepreneurship Week.
After graduation, DeRosa found herself at Burson-Marsteller as an Issues and Crisis Intern. She was hired full-time as a Client Staff Assistant for the Issues and Crisis Group at the conclusion of her internship in August 2012. Through this position, she created client-specific crisis preparedness plans and coordinated crisis communications teams.
DeRosa’s passion for crisis public relations led to her most recent work involving international crisis response work for an international brand. She also works in crisis preparedness plans for an energy plant project.
It’s only appropriate to have DeRosa speak to us as many members of this chapter are interested in crisis public relations. We are very much looking forward to hearing about Kristin’s experience at Burson-Marsteller!
