PRSSA 2014 Induction Ceremony

By Victoria Scipione, Event Planning Chair

Penn State was proud to welcome Tom Resau, one of the 10 founding members of the 1998 Penn State PRSSA charter, to the Nittany Lion Inn for our chapter membership reception. The reception took place in Alumni Lounge where it brought together the young women and men from the Lawrence G. Foster Chapter of PRSSA to congratulate them and provide them with membership certificates. The night consisted of executive PRSSAdirectors, committee chair members and active members from different committees. The reception began with networking amongst all of our members accompanied by food and beverages.  Everyone was able to move around the room and engage in conversation. This allowed for connections to be made through members that possibly have never met before.

Following that, Tom Resau, a Penn state graduate, who is now Vice President at W2 Communications, got to know everyone as well. In the past he served as our first PRSSA treasurer and our chapter was ecstatic that he could join us for the evening during his Penn State visit. Tom spoke during the event and gave everyone some insight on what he does and how to succeed in the industry.

The night ended with all of our members receiving a personalized certificate as a token of appreciation for their work and it served as an official PRSSA membership document. All of our members work extremely hard and have a thriving passion for public relations. PRSSA also gives a special thanks to Ann Major, a professor at the University and the organizations faculty advisor for all that she has done not only for this event but also for our chapter of PRSSA.
