The event planning committee will be hosting their 3rd annual Young Professional’s Guide to Success on Tuesday, April 7, at 6:30 p.m. in 110 Wartik. The purpose of this event is to give students the opportunity to talk to local communications professionals to gauge what it is really like to work in the industry. This year’s speakers are Geoff Rushton, Manager of Penn State’s Office of Social Media and Strategic Communications; Janet Santostefano, VP of Advertising and Marketing for the Centre Daily Times; and Bernie Punt, Director of Sales and Marketing at the Bryce Jordan Center. The event is open to all majors!
Geoff Rushton oversees Penn State’s social media platforms and develops strategies and content, while providing consultation services. Ruston has held this position in the strategic communications division for three years. As the communications industry relies heavily on social media, Rushton will be a great source of advice on what it’s like to form content for a large institution.
Janet Santostefano has been in her position at the Centre Daily Times since March 2007. As a Penn State graduate, Santostefano will provide students with advice on how she started her career in the communications industry.
Bernie Punt has been the Director of Sales and Marketing at the Bryce Jordan Center for the past 19 years. He has worked to bring in talent to the Penn State community and his opinions will be valuable to students wanting to work in the entertainment field.
We hope to see you there!
