The Lawrence G. Foster Chapter of PRSSA is thrilled to announce that it has been chosen to host one of 10 nationally recognized PRSSA regional conferences. The conference will be held Feb. 3 – 4, 2017 at the Days Inn in State College, Pa.

The theme of the conference, “Passport to PR,” will allow attendees to explore the public relations field, network with close to 200 young professionals and hear speakers from various industry backgrounds. All majors are welcome to attend.

“The theme ‘Passport to PR’ is about broadening your professional horizons and discovering all that the public relations industry has to offer,” said Emily Pirt, Director of Regional Conference. “The greatest thing about PR is that it can lead you virtually anywhere. Attendees from all professional backgrounds will find something of value in the conference.”

As one of the largest chapters in the nation, Penn State PRSSA is looking forward to hosting its fourth conference since 2011 and having the honor to kick off the National Chapter’s 2017 conference season.

“The Lawrence G. Foster Chapter is humbled at the opportunity to host a regional conference in 2017,” said Penn State PRSSA President Katie Morrison. “Our planning committee has worked diligently over the past seven months to prepare our bid, and we are excited to welcome students from across the nation to Happy Valley.”

Interested students can register online via the conference’s Eventbrite page beginning Wednesday, Oct. 19.  “Early Bird” registration will run through the end of November, offering students a discounted rate of $60 for PRSSA members and $65 for non-PRSSA members. From Dec. 1 onwards, registration will be $70 for PRSSA members and $75 for non-PRSSA members. Conference registration will close Friday, Jan. 6.

A complete list of speakers and a conference schedule will be released in the coming weeks. Interested individuals can learn more about the conference at www.PassportToPR.com or by following @PassportToPR on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Snapchat.
