Madison Price, Event Planning
Madison is a senior studying journalism and minoring in digital media trends and analytics. She was very active in the event planning committee during her junior year, and is excited for what this year will bring serving as an event planning chair. She is also very active with Happy Valley Communications and has done freelance public relations for a number of small businesses.
Catherine Simms, Event Planning
Catherine is a junior with a major in public relations and minors in digital media trends and analytics and international studies. Catherine was an active member of PRSSA throughout her sophomore year, and she became a co-chair for the strategic planning committee.
Outside of PRSSA, Catherine is an Account Associate for Happy Valley Communications, the Social Media chair for the Association for Women in Sports Media and the Founder’s Day chair for Delta Zeta sorority.
Catherine has done event-planning work for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, public relations work for Butler County Alliance for Children and social media work for College Fashionista.
In her free time, Catherine enjoys lifting, hiking and photography. After graduation, Catherine plans to work for a PR Firm or in event planning.
Corinne Findlay, Strategic Planning
Corinne is a junior studying public relations with a double minor in digital media trends and analytics & global and international studies. During her sophomore year, she was an active PRSSA member as part of the Strategic Planning Committee and is excited to be leading it this year.
In summer 2017, Corinne served as a Marketing Intern at Coburn Communication Inc. in New York City. This past summer she interned at Coyne PR, one of the top 10 independent firms in the country. Through her internships, Corinne has worked with big-name clients such as Clinique, Elizabeth Arden’s Juicy Couture, and Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA), which includes brands such as the Jeep, Dodge, Chrysler and Ram.
While at school, she is a strategic communications intern at the Penn State Alumni Association and a member of the Advertising/Public Relations Club. This upcoming spring, she will be studying abroad in Florence, Italy.
Corinne is an extremely passionate individual who looks forward to growing her skills to allow her to excel in her future endeavors. She hopes to pursue a career at an agency in consumer public relations post-grad.
Avery Holland, Strategic Planning
Avery Holland is a junior studying public relations with minors in Spanish and digital media trends and analytics. She is so excited to be the Strategic Planning Chair after joining the committee her sophomore year.
In addition to PRSSA, Avery is on the PR and Marketing Team for VALLEY Magazine where she promotes and markets Penn State’s only student-run life and style magazine.
This past summer, she interned at a communications agency in New York as a PR intern where she learned so many new and exciting parts of the industry she can’t wait to share with her committee this year.
Kristi Chan, THON/Philanthropy
Kristi is a junior from Long Island, New York majoring in media studies with a minor in digital media trends and analytics. She became involved with PRSSA during her sophomore year as part of the THON committee, where she was also one of their dancers for THON 2018. She is excited to be serving as one of the alternative fundraising chairs.
Outside of PRSSA, Kristi is involved with Phi Mu sorority and the Donald P. Bellisario College of Communications Peer Mentoring club. She is an avid iced coffee drinker and during her free time, loves spending time with friends, traveling and food.
After graduation, she hopes to pursue a career that involves communications, digital marketing or real estate in either New York or California.
Lauren D’Orazio, THON/Philanthropy
Lauren is a senior majoring in public relations and minoring in Spanish. She joined PRSSA her junior year as a member of the Event Planning committee. Before transferring to University Park, Lauren spent two years at Penn State Altoona where she served as the special events captain for Altoona Benefiting THON 2016-2017. She also was on a rules and regulations committee for THON 2017-2018 as the merchandise chair and the event fundraising specialist.
Lauren interned at Philadelphia magazine as a sales, marketing and events intern in the summer of 2018. She is very excited to take on her new roles as the Director of Public Relations and one of the Alternative Fundraising chairs for PRSSA’s THON organization this year!
In her free time, Lauren enjoys spending time with friends and family and watching her favorite movies and TV shows. After graduation, she hopes to travel the world and pursue a career in event planning and public relations.
Emma Kauffman, THON/Philanthropy
Emma is a senior majoring in public relations with minors in English and digital media trends and analytics. She is also receiving a business certificate through the Smeal College of Business. She joined PRSSA her freshman year as a member of the Strategic Planning Committee. Along with her involvement in PRSSA, Emma is also the VP of Communications for the Penn State Performing Arts Council. She also interned with Penn State Dining and New Tech Network.
This is her second year as a THON Chair. She is also taking on the position of National Committee Liaison, after having attended national PRSSA events. She also would be more than happy to get to know new PRSSA members, so don’t be afraid to say hello!
Emma Riglin, THON/Philanthropy
Emma is a sophomore from Philipsburg, PA studying public relations. She has been involved in PRSSA since her first semester at Penn State, and is very grateful for the opportunity to be the Family Relations chair this year and hold a position that brings PRSSA and THON together.
In addition to PRSSA, Emma is also involved in the Oriana Singers, Alpha Phi Omega Honor Society, Volé, and is an orientation leader.
For the past two years, Emma has been the Public Relations Director for a local community theatre group, Front and Centre Productions.
In her free time, Emma enjoys going to the beach, baking, playing piano, singing and performing as much as possible.
After graduation, Emma hopes to move to Washington, DC and get a job in crisis management.
Madeline Dittrich, Communications/Digital Strategy
Maddy is a junior studying advertising with minors in psychology and digital media trends and analytics. She is excited to serve as the Communications and Digital Strategy Committee Chair again this semester. Maddy originally joined PRSSA as a member of the Strategic Planning Committee. Outside of PRSSA, Maddy is involved in THON, Movin’ On, and Club Swimming. Maddy is currently working for Penn State Athletics as a customer relations intern, and this past summer she worked as a marketing intern for Comcast.
In her free time, Maddy enjoys working out, reading, cooking and spending time with her friends. After college, she hopes to move to New York City to pursue her dream of working as a brand strategist at an advertising agency.
Maria Evangelou, Communications/Digital Strategy
Maria is a senior majoring in media studies at Penn State. In addition to being Director of Chapter of Development for PRSSA, Maria is also involved on the executive boards of Penn State Sports Business Conference and ADPR Club.
Maria has previously interned in Penn State Athletics’ communications department, where she covered sports on GoPsuSports.com. Outside of her academics and extracurriculars, Maria’s hobbies include spending time outdoors, and health and fitness. She also enjoys trying new foods, hiking, and traveling.
