Mady Gilkin, Event Planning
Mady is a senior studying public relations, while also obtaining the Smeal College Business Fundamentals Certificate. Mady was an active member of PRSSA her junior year, working closely with the Event Planning Committee. Last year she planned the PRSSA formal and events with the fashion society and Yoga club.
Outside of PRSSA, Mady is a member of the Sigma Kappa sorority, a Campus Representative for PSU Barstool and is on the marketing team for College Connect.
Mady has done free-lance writing work for University Primetime and College is My Life. She has also worked on promotions with different companies and individuals such as Tia from 93.7 WSTW and PSNtv.
In her free time, Mady enjoys working out, producing youtube videos and attending football games. After graduation, Mady plans to work for a PR Firm in NY, New York.
Isabela Guerreiro, Event Planning
Isabela Guerreiro is a junior at Penn State who is looking forward to holding her position as Event Planning Chair. She is studying Journalism with a minor is Digital Media Trends and Analytics. She previously worked with Top Runner Marketing, a small business that helps run other small business’ social media, from summer 2016 to summer 2017.
During the spring of 2016 she interned with Penn State Athletics in their Customer Relations Department. This summer she interned for Moroccanoil in the Beauty Division in the New York City location. This spring she will be studying abroad in Florence, Italy.
Isabela is very interested in the PR world and is excited to gain the skills needed to perform well in her future endeavors.
Cailyn McCutcheon, Strategic Planning
Cailyn is a junior from West Chester, Pennsylvania majoring in both Public Relations and Psychology. She joined PRSSA her sophomore year and served two semesters on the Strategic Planning Committee. This year Cailyn will be one of the new committee chairs.
In addition to working with PRSSA, Cailyn is the current Social Media Manager for UPUA. Cailyn is also on the Public Relations/Marketing team for Valley Magazine, a member of Ed2010 and the Director of Special Events for her sorority, Delta Gamma. She also helped to promote Penn State’s music festival Movin’ On last school year.
In the spring, Cailyn was an intern with a local radio station called 98.7 The FREQ. This past summer, Cailyn lived at the Delaware beach and worked as an editorial intern for a local newspaper.
In her free time, Cailyn likes to go to concerts and music festivals and spend time with her friends and family. She also likes to run and play volleyball. After graduation, Cailyn would love to find a job in Philadelphia, PA at a public relations or marketing firm.
Tayah Price, Strategic Planning
Tayah is a senior majoring in public relations, with a minor in digital media trends and analytics. Tayah joined Penn State’s PRSSA her junior year, where she was a member of the Event Planning Committee. In addition to her involvement in PRSSA, Tayah is also a part of the student-run newspaper, The Underground, where she serves as their public relations manager.
This past summer, Tayah interned at Vizion Group PR firm as the public relations intern for the non-profit agency. During her internship, Tayah had the opportunity to work closely with Purina who hosts the National Dog show and the American Century Golf Tournament aired by NBC Sports. An article she had compiled and edited featuring Charles Barkley was published and featured on ACESgolf.com, which is Northern California’s Premier Lifestyle Magazine.
In her free time, Tayah enjoys playing volleyball, watching reruns of Gossip Girl and Gilmore girls and spending time with her family and friends. Tayah hopes to pursue a career in either corporate public relations, digital public relations or social media upon graduation.
Carolyn Cushwa, THON/Philanthropy
Carolyn is a senior majoring in public relations with a minor in english. She first joined Penn State’s PRSSA her sophomore year as a member of the strategic planning committee as well as the THON committee. It was during her time with the THON committee that Carolyn fell in love with the mission of THON, and began working to further it’s goals. It was through her experiences with PRSSA THON that Carolyn decided to get more involved, and she now serves as the Family Relations Chair for the committee.
In addition to PRSSA, Carolyn is also a web writer for Valley Magazine, Penn State’s life and style publication. In her free time she enjoys reading, writing, and spending too much time online shopping
Emma Kauffman, THON/Philanthropy
Emma is a sophomore majoring in public relations with minors in English, business and digital media trends and analytics. She joined PRSSA her freshman year as a member of the Strategic Planning Committee. Along with her involvement with PRSSA, Emma writes for Odyssey Online at Penn State, producing original articles on a weekly basis. She also works at the University Library, so she always has a book with her.
After being a brand ambassador for Dunkin’ Donuts, she really found a passion for public relations and positively representing a brand. However due to her involvement in THON this upcoming semester, she hopes to intern this year with a non-profit group this summer to see all the sides public relations has to offer.
In her free time, Emma likes to write spoken word poetry, order Insomnia Cookies with her friends and teach herself sign language. She also would be more than happy to get to know new PRSSA members, so don’t be afraid to say hello!
Morisa Young, THON/Philanthropy
Morisa is a senior majoring in public relations and double minoring in psychology and women’s studies. She’s been an active member of PRSSA since her freshman year, where she was a member of the Strategic Planning Committee. Since then, she’s also become a member of the Communications Committee and the THON/Philanthropy Committee. She’s excited to be this year’s director of finance and returning as one of four THON chairs. This semester, Morisa will be interning with Penn State Athletics in the Customer Relations Center.
In her spare time, Morisa enjoys watching Netflix, baking, or planning her next dream vacation. More often than not, you will find her with a cup of coffee in hand. After graduation, she hopes to pursue a career in the non-profit or travel industry in New York City. If all else fails, she wants to spend her time traveling.
Mora Fetterolf, THON/Philanthropy
Mora is a rising senior at studying advertising. She is interested in external advertising and creative planning and dreams of working at a successful agency in Philadelphia one day. Mora just finished up her internship at Tipton Communications, a leading communications agency in Newark, Delaware, where she worked with graphic designers, editors and other team members to create strategic communications plans for clients.
Mora is looking forward to her second year as a Penn State PRSSA THON Chair and has lots of plans for the THON committee this coming year!
Alexa Turkovich, Communications/Digital Strategy
Alexa is a student at Pennsylvania State University majoring in Public Relations and minoring in Digital Media Trends and Analytics. She is the co-chair of the Communications and Digital Strategy Committee, which she was a member of in past years.
In addition to PRSSA, Alexa is involved with the business division of Valley Magazine, a student-run fashion and lifestyle publication, published semi-annually. She is a former summer intern at Linda Gaunt Communications located in New York City.
Lauren Zelasko, Communications/Digital Strategy
Lauren is a junior majoring in Public Relations with minors in Spanish and Digital Media Trends & Analytics. Lauren joined PRSSA her sophomore year where she was a member of the strategic planning and communications/digital strategy committees.
Outside of PRSSA, Lauren is also a Public Relations intern for Penn State Dining. Lauren manages the social media for PSU dining and plans events/promotions throughout the year. She is also involved in THON and the Sigma Alpha Pi honor society.
In her free time, Lauren enjoys going to the gym, reading and going to concerts.
