Colette Pickering, Event Planning
Colette is a senior majoring in public relations, with a minor in recreation, parks and tourism management. Colette joined Penn State’s PRSSA her junior year, where she was a member of the Event Planning Committee and THON. In addition to her involvement in PRSSA, Colette will be apart of the Resort Practicum Program for the fall semester. As a part of this program,
Colette will be designing events and recreational programs for Marriott Vacations in Hilton Head, S.C.
This past summer, Colette interned at the sports marketing company, Pattison Sports Group. There, she had the amazing opportunity of being the public relations intern for the national non-profit, Healthy Kids Running Series.
Colette was promoted a few weeks into her internship to help Pattison Sports Group’s for-profit side, Victory Event Series, with social media, marketing and photography.
In her free time, Colette enjoys painting and doing CrossFit. After graduation, Colette plans to work in the corporate communications industry in Philadelphia, Pa.

Madeline Marino, Event Planning
Madeline is a junior majoring in public relations with minors in both business and Spanish. She joined Penn State’s PRSSA her sophomore year and helped create pieces for the PRSSA newsletter. This year Madeline will be one of the new committee chairs.
Madeline has done an independent study which included designing various marketing visuals and promoting various events via social media and through contact with local radios, websites, and newspapers. This exposed to Madeline the marketing side of public relations that she plans to go into in the future.
In her free time, Madeline enjoys playing volleyball and going to the gym. She plans on broadening her public relations and marketing experience within the next couple years.
Katie Kennedy, Strategic Planning (Fall)
Katie is a junior from Syracuse, New York attending Penn State to earn her degree in Public Relations with a minor in Business and a minor in International Studies. She has a passion for all things ‘Communications’ and has been involved with PRSSA since her freshman year. Outside of PRSSA, Katie is also a member of Valley Magazine’s business division, College of Communications Student Council, College of Communications Peer Mentors as well as a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma.
Maddie Woodrow, Strategic Planning (Spring)
In her free time, Maddie enjoys relaxing with her dog, Bennie, cooking or watching The Office. Maddie hopes to pursue a career in digital public relations or SEO/SEM Marketing upon graduation.
Holly Rubin, Strategic Planning (Spring)
Holly is a sophomore majoring in public relations with minors in business, international studies, and digital media trends and analytics. Holly joined PRSSA her freshman year as a member of the Strategic Planning committee.
In addition to being involved with PRSSA, Holly is a member of the College of Communications Student Council and an inductee of the Phi Eta Sigma honor society. She is also a sister of Alpha Omicron Pi, where she serves on the communications committee. This semester Holly will be interning with Braden Social Media in downtown State College.
In her free time, Holly loves adventuring through New York City and attending concerts with her friends.
Carolyn Cushwa, THON/Philanthropy
Carolyn is a junior majoring in public relations with a minor in english. She first joined Penn State’s PRSSA her sophomore year as a member of the strategic planning committee as well as the THON committee. It was during her time with the THON committee that Carolyn fell in love with the mission of THON, and began working to further it’s goals. It was through her experiences with PRSSA THON that Carolyn decided to get more involved, and she now serves as the Family Relations Chair for the committee.
In addition to PRSSA, Carolyn is also a web writer for Valley Magazine, Penn State’s life and style publication. In her free time she enjoys reading, writing, and spending too much time online shopping
Rachel Tasker, THON/Philanthropy
Morisa Young, THON/Philanthropy
Morisa is a junior majoring in public relations and double minoring in psychology and women’s studies. This past summer, she spent two months studying at the University of Sussex in England. She’s been an active member of PRSSA since her freshman year, where she was a member of the Strategic Planning Committee. Since then, she’s also become a member of the Communications Committee and the THON/Philanthropy Committee. She’s excited to be one of four THON chairs this year, and can’t wait to continue to support the fight against pediatric cancer.
In her spare time, Morisa enjoys watching Netflix, baking, or planning her next dream vacation. More often than not, you will find her with a cup of coffee in hand.
Mora Fetterolf, THON/Philanthropy
Mora is a junior majoring in advertising with a phycology minor. She first joined PRSSA last fall where she participated in both the THON and Strategic Planning Committees. Mora was inspired to get more involved with PRSSA THON so she decided to withhold a leadership person as one of the THON chairs. Along with her membership with PRSSA , Mora is also starting her first semester with Valley Magazine, as a member of the advertising team.
Mora loves to hang out with friends, bake, and has a huge passion for animals. In her free time back at home, she volunteers at Canine Partners for Life, an organization that trains puppies to be service dogs for physically and mentally disabled people. Mora dreams of traveling to Thailand to work with wild animals for a period of time before she lands herself a professional career in advertising. Ideally, Mora would love to work for a big ad agency in Philadelphia, where her focus would be on consumer research and target marketing.
Mackenzie Liberatori, Communications/Digital Strategy (Fall)
Mackenzie is a fifth year majoring in Media Studies: International Communications, with minors in business and Spanish. She joined Penn State’s PRSSA her senior year, where she was a member of the Communications and Event Planning Committees. Since joining, Mackenzie has contributed several pieces to the Communications Committee’s winter and spring newsletters and completed small graphic design projects for the Event Planning Committee. In addition to her involvement with PRSSA, Mackenzie will be a Junior Consultant for HVC.
Mackenzie previously interned with local wholesaler, Mindfully Made Studios, to promote a line of handmade accessories. This past summer, Mackenzie had the opportunity to intern for Karma Agency in Philadelphia, providing her access to work with a wide range of clients from pharmaceutical supply distributors and advisory service firms to retail shopping chains and nonprofits.
In her free time, Mackenzie likes to watch documentaries and play with design programs. She never leaves home without a Spanish dictionary in case she thinks of an English word she forgets the translation for. Mackenzie would like to explore the more creative areas of the earned and paid media sectors after graduation. Web design is something that she is particularly interested in currently.

Elissa Hill, Communications/Digital Strategy
Elissa is a sophomore majoring in public relations with minors in business and digital media trends/analytics. She joined Penn State’s PRSSA her freshman year as a member of the communications and digital strategy committees.
In addition to her involvement with PRSSA, Elissa is an editor for Onward State, a donor relations captain for Penn State Homecoming, and the communications director for the Penn State Performing Arts Council. Elissa interned with Key Club International this past summer working in convention productions, and is currently a communications intern with Schreyer Honors College.
In her free time, Elissa can be found drinking iced green tea, writing hot takes about Penn State news, or obsessing over the HUB lawn.
Sara Salter, Communications/Digital Strategy (Spring)
Sara is a junior majoring in public relations with a minor in environmental inquiry as well as digital media trends and analytics. She first joined PRSSA fall of 2016 where she was an active member of both the event planning and communication/digital strategy committees. During that semester, she contributed to the fall newsletter. She looks forward to getting more involved so that she can further her PR skills.
Sara can often be found relaxing at home playing video games, volunteering at animal shelters, doing yoga, or watching beauty videos. Nothing makes her happier than snuggling with her cats, hanging out with her friends and creating artwork.
Her time in Costa Rica doing conservation work really inspired her and she would love nothing more than to continue that effort. Sara’s most passionate about traveling as she has been to many places including Germany, France, Switzerland, Italy, Mexico, Costa Rica and Japan but hopes to add many more to that list. In the future, she would like to work at a nonprofit in the conservation field or an agency that would allow her creativity to shine through.
